Level 3 Award in Education & Training

The Launch Groups ‘Level 3 Award in Education & Training’, previously known as PTLLS, is a nationally recognised teaching qualification. It provides a mix of theory-based knowledge and the opportunity to practice teaching skills – followed by in-depth feedback and development goals from one of our own highly experienced tutors and assessors.

This qualification aims to meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers, such as:

• individuals not currently in a teaching or training role
• individuals who are currently teaching and training (including those who have just begun teaching and training)
• individuals currently working as Assessors who wish to achieve a qualification that provides an introduction to teaching.

Unlike other providers, there are no additional costs and the cost advertised covers all resources, tutor support and certification of the qualification.

Learning Objectives

On completion of this course, learners will be able to:

• Understand the teaching role and responsibilities in education and training
• Understand ways to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
• Understand the relationships between teachers and other professionals in education and training
• Understand inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training
• Understand ways to create an inclusive teaching and learning environment
• Be able to plan inclusive teaching and learning
• Be able to deliver inclusive teaching and learning
• Be able to evaluate the delivery of inclusive teaching and learning
• Understand types and methods of assessment used in education and training
• Understand how to involve learners and others in the assessment process
• Understand the role and use of constructive feedback in the assessment process
• Understand requirements for keeping records of assessment in education and training

There are no nationally agreed entry requirements for this qualification, but TLG can provide an initial skills scan and informal discussion for anyone unsure of their suitability.

To show sufficient understanding of all learning objectives, learners must:

• Complete a series of written theory-based assignments
• Create a lesson plan for a short, 30-minute teaching session
• Prepare and deliver a 30-minute teaching session
• Accurately reflect on the effectiveness of their teaching session

Upon completion of their qualification, learners receive a certificate  nationally-accredited qualification, at no additional cost.
