Course description

The Level 3 Award in Education & Training (AET), formerly known as PTLLS and often referred to as a “Train the Trainer” qualification, is an introductory, nationally accredited teaching qualification for anyone looking to begin or develop a career in teaching, training or learning delivery. It provides a strong foundation in teaching theory alongside the opportunity to practise teaching skills, supported throughout by one of our highly experienced tutors and assessors. Learners also receive in-depth feedback and personalised development goals to help strengthen their teaching confidence and capability.

This qualification is ideal for:

  • Individuals not currently in a teaching or training role
  • Individuals who are already teaching or training, including those new to the profession
  • Assessors who want to expand into teaching or gain a recognised introduction to education
  • Throughout the programme, learners receive a range of essential, free teaching resources that they can use and adapt in their real teaching environments, helping them immediately apply what they learn.

What this qualification enables you to do:

The Level 3 AET allows learners to teach or train in a variety of environments, including further education, private training organisations, workplace training, adult learning settings and community education. It is often the first step for those wishing to:

  • Deliver classroom-based or workplace-based training
  • Move into teaching roles within colleges or training providers
  • Enhance an existing role that includes staff development or skills training
  • Progress to higher-level teaching qualifications (e.g., Level 4/5 certificates or diplomas in Education & Training)

Unlike many other providers, there are no additional or hidden costs. The advertised price includes all learning materials, tutor support, teaching practice opportunities and full certification upon completion.
